Wilma Jean Bramel, 98, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Swayzee. Wilma was born to the late Floyd and Marguerite (VanNess) Hamilton, on December 29, 1925. in Point Isabel. She attended Summitville Schools. Wilma married the love of her life, Max D. Bramel, on December 31, 1943. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2010. Wilma was a beautician and worked in her home beauty shop for many years. When she was younger she worked at the canning factory in Point Isabel. Wilma was a member of Summitville Christian Church, then attended Antioch Christian Church, and then found her home at Harmony Christian Church.
Wilma was a dedicated wife, where ever Max was Wilma was right there with him. She was a farm-wife and worked right along Max. After Max retired, they became snow birds and spent the winters in Bradenton Florida, and came back home in the summer. They enjoyed playing cards with their friends.
Wilma loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She was an avid sports fan and loved basketball.
Wilma is survived by her children, Diana Whybrew, Swayzee; Michael (Christy) Bramel, Summitville; and Ken (Mary) Bramel, Greentown; grandchildren, David (Kimberly) Whybrew, Amy (Tim) Tarter, Scott (Connie) Whybrew, Mark (Kelly) Whybrew, Greg (Kayle) Bramel, Chad (Tracy) Bramel, Cory (Stephanie) Bramel, Andrew (Megan) Bramel, Mary Beth (Chuck) Shepherd, and Matthew Bramel; 24 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Betty Miller; Howard Hamilton, Harold Hamilton, and Mary Lou Farrer; and son-in-law, JD Whybrew.
Arrangements for Wilma have been entrusted to Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928. Burial will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Vinson Cemetery, in Summitville.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Wilma to Gentiva Hospice 1476 W 18th St, Rochester, IN 46975, or to Harmony Christian Church 9043 County Rd 1800 N, Elwood, IN 46036.

Teresa and I offer our condolences in the loss of Jean . She was a great neighbour in Florida. It was always fun to play games with her and Dianne. We are glad to of gotten to know her and in turn , became good friends with Ken & Mary.
