Alia Bopp

Alia Bopp, 77, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2023. She was born to parents Tamara Bordilowska Anossow and Wasily (Bill) Novikov Anossow on Feb. 3, 1946, in Salzburg, Austria. She grew up in Caracas, Venezuela where she lived until she moved to Syracuse, New York at the age of 17. She raised her children from her first marriage, Christopher and Kimberly Russo, in Mastic, New York. Alia met her beloved husband Thomas M. Bopp in 1985, they were married in 1986 in New York, and they later moved to Florida. Alia and Thomas loved and supported each other and their combined seven children.

She is predeceased by husband Thomas M. Bopp, her parents, brother Archie Anossow, daughter Barbara Joan Root and grandson Thomas Yacuk Jr. She is survived by children Kimberly Russo, Christopher Russo, Thomas Bopp, Christine Booker, Donna Wolfe, and Joseph Taglarini. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Sasha Orbino and Larissa Boyce as well as her cherished brother-in-law Gerald (Jerry) Orbino. Alia was a loving grandmother to Tyler and Natalie Russo, Tommy, Mary and Jimmy Bopp, Sharon Layton, Donnie Neuburger, Kimberly Norton and Jared Root.

She was a caring great-grandmother to D.J. Layton, Krista Neuburger, Natalie Neuburger and Mason Leroux and a loving aunt to Alexandra Lehr, Gregory and Matthew Orbino and Maria Boyce. She was a great-great-grandmother to Brantley and Lexa Layton. Alia is also survived by many dear friends.

Ali served in many capacities during her life, working as a phlebotomist for 20+ years on Long Island and at Seven Rivers Hospital. She was also licensed as a hairdresser and worked at an elementary school on Long Island, helping her children and many others. Ali was a devoted parishioner of First Baptist Church of Crystal River.
