Ann DiSanza Obituary

Ann Teresa DiSanza, age 76, of Inverness, died under the loving care of her family at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on December 11, 2024. Ann was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 28, 1948 to the late William and Rita (O'Keefe) Cassidy.

Ann received her Master's of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling and was passionate about helping others. She was a devoted mother and wife. She worked as a counselor, a substitute teacher, and a Sunday School Superintendent. Ann fostered many children throughout the years and was an active member of her home church. Her and her late husband were world travelers and spread God's love. She also had a niche for cooking and loved to travel and cruise. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, and painting.

Left to cherish her memory are her Children: Michael "Mike" DiSanza of Inverness, Douglas "Doug" DiSanza of Ocala, Jonathan DiSanza of Inverness, and Rachel LaRosa, of Inverness; her brothers and sister: Andy (Irene) Cassidy, Sean (Samantha) Cassidy, Gregory (Debbie) Cassidy, and Gloria (Conal) Newman, plus six grandchildren including Gabriella DiSanza, Issac Calma, Mahaley Wixey, Vanessa Calma, Tyson DiSanza, and Jackson DiSanza. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Michael A. DiSanza and her brother, William Cassidy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Avenue, Inverness. The Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, December 20th, at 3:00 p.m. from Calvary Chapel, 960 South U.S. Highway 41, Inverness. Ann will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery with her husband, Michael at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.

I checked the box "Family" on this legacy post, not that I am blood family, however the DiSanza Family has been and will always be family to me. I was blessed to have Ann and Mike come into my life at the time I was a new convert. A seed had been planted in my life, but it needed watering and naturing to grow. Ann and Mike provided that water and naturing that I needed the most, to help me grow into what Christ intended for me to be. When I struggled or fell, they were there to help me along and pick me up. They both gave unconditionally, opening their home and lives to me and my family, showing us the true meaning of being a Christian and how to walk as a Christian. I was blessed to have met them, have them in my life, spend time with them and with their children, Michael, Doug, Rachel and Jonathan. I cherish each and every memory I have of time spent with the Disanza Family, our trips to Cops for Christ meetings, church functions, many walks, the list goes one, and let´s not forget our many Sunday afternoons enjoying Ann´s fine cooking. I will certainly miss Ann, as I miss Mike and hurt with the DiSanza Family with her absence. I, however, am comforted and rejoice in knowing that she is home with the Lord, where her heart has longed. Ann fought the good fight, she finished the course and kept the faith, she is now home with the Lord and doing a two step with Mike.
