"The greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow."
Bronsell Emerson Sean Duncan, age 6, the beloved son of Chris and Nikki Duncan, passed gently into the arms of Jesus, on September 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends, cradled in his mother's arms. He graced our lives on September 1, 2019, at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Florida, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he touched.
Bronsell was named to honor two cherished figures: his father's dear friend, Bronsell Rasbury, and his mother's beloved cousin, Sean Allen.
Though his time with us was brief, Bronsell filled our lives with boundless joy and happiness. From the moment he entered our world, his vibrant spirit captivated every heart. He thrived on the love and affection of his family and the dedicated staff at Arnold Palmer Hospital, eagerly soaking up cuddles from his momma and daddy. He cherished moments spent with family, from napping with his father to enjoying story time with Ophelia, Roczen, and Finley. He loved listening to Ed Sheeran with his Auntie Julie, treasured visits with Auntie Kasha, and snuggling on his momma's lap late at night. To the staff of the Special Care Unit, at Arnold Palmer Hospital, Bronsell was more than just a patient; he became family. His warmth and charm touched everyone – from Henry, the security guard, to Dr. Rosa, his audiologist, to the nurses and aides, including Alexia, Carmelle, Lauren, Jake, Migdalia, and Tracy, who became like a second mother to him. Amidst the heartbreak of a terrible diagnosis given to Bronsell, their dedication and compassion allowed us to enjoy six precious years with our son.
Bronsell was a playful, handsome, courageous, and charming little soul, and his love for his family was profound. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Avery Emerson David Duncan and Riley Emerson Christian Duncan; and his sister, Sawyer Emerson Remington Duncan. He is survived by his parents, Chris and Nikki Duncan; his siblings: Trace, Hunter, Jada, Cloe, Kayla, Leland, Greyson, Ophelia, Roczen, and Finley; his paternal grandparents, Mitch and Marion Duncan; his maternal grandparents, Dava D. Anderson and James F. Mitchell; his grandma-in-love, Elaine Tarte Rasbury Hunt; his paternal uncle, Curtis Duncan; his maternal aunts, LeeAnna and Tracy Mitchell; his aunties-in-love, Julie Dean and Kasha Boncada; his best friend, Xander Boncada Quezada; his uncle-in-love Joey Quezada; and many loving cousins who adored him. He was welcomed into heaven by his friends Iam and Rome, along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and great-grandparents.
Bronsell's final act was nothing short of heroic: His organs were selflessly donated to save other children in need. This generous gift stands as a testament to his remarkable spirit and the profound impact he had on the lives of others.
As it is written in Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
Bronsell's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Crystal River Church of God in Crystal River, FL. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness, alongside his brothers and sister.
"Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. Fly high, Bronsell Bear."
