Beckmann Family -
You have our sincere sympathy of the Smith Family. Most of my conversations with Charlie were about crossword puzzles. It seems that we both shared a delight in the use of words. Perhaps our daily vocabulary, in how we experessed ourselves varied, but our puzzle words were of great interest to both of us. Charlie shared the idea of having his "crossword notebook" published so that he could share a phase of his enjoyment with others. I wish he could have done that.

Dear Beckmanns,
Whenever I think of Chas I will always think of how much fun he was. I loved to go and play poker with him,at Diane and Gary's house. He would always make me laugh when he tried to sneak food to the dog when Diane wasn't looking. He was a good man and he will always be in my memories, prayers, and my heart.

Chaz was always so nice to me when ever he was at the Beckmanns. I will always remeber i would talk to him about football and he would say that real men played back then cause of the leather helmet and no face masks. I'll miss him alot

Gary, Chris and Janet and family, I hope whenever you think of your dad you get a big smile on your face. He spent a lot of time trying to make everyone laugh. I know I always smile when I think of him. That way all that energy will never go to waste. Our thoughts are with you all.

To Janet, Chris, and Gary: It was a special privilege to have known your dad and to have experienced his courtly nature, his kindness, and his sense of fun....not to mention his famous chili. I will treasure my memories of Charlie. Thank you for sharing your remarkable father. Hold the happy times close to your hearts.

Gary, Janet & Chris, My thoughts are with you as we remember your Dad, Charlie. I knew him as a business associate and great friend. One thing is for sure, when Charlie was in the room, everyone was laughing! We always had a good time. He spent years building this big old wood boat, "Charlie Boat". He achieved his goal by cruising the shores of lake Erie. We had many fun nights at Put In Bay, thanks to Capt. Charlie. Then there was the motor coach. Him and John Madden, two of a kind! We made a trip to Cleveland Stadium, for a Browns - Bengals game. Must have been 20 below zero. But it didn't matter, the "Bounder" was parked at a NFL game, that was GOOD stuff. We'll miss you Charlie, but always be thankful for the times we spent together. God Bless.
