Dale Wilbur Obituary
He was born February 21, 1935, in Berwyn, IL, and the son of Harold Wilbur and Una Rakerd Wilbur. He graduated from Aurora University and worked as a counselor for the Illinois Department of Corrections.
As an Illinois snowbird he spent 15 winters in Inverness, Florida, and moved there in 2015. He was active in the Friends of the Citrus County Library and loved reading, fishing and gardening.
Mr. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Bette Lange. Survivors include wife of 59 years, Barbara Wilbur of Inverness, FL, his 3 sons: Brock Wilbur of Tulsa, OK, Michael (Cynthia) Wilbur of Gridley, IL, Daniel (Connie) Wilbur of Mascoutah, IL, a daughter, Susan (Jim) Langley of Las Vegas, NV, and a brother Kenneth Wilbur of Nokomis, IL.
He had 8 grandchildren: Jeremy, Nicole, Steven, Alexandra, Ashlie, Chelsie, Aidan, and Liam and 3 step-grandchildren: Shelli, Dawn and Derek.
A celebration of his life is planned in Florida in the Spring.
