Darla Carman Obituary

On April 25, 2010, Darla Lyn Carman went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Wagener's Granulomatosis. Born on December 23, 1962, in Clearwater, Florida, to Mary Eichhorn Horne and Edgar Emory Horne. She moved to Inverness, Florida, at the age of two weeks. Graduated from Citrus High in 1980, and married Ronald R. Carman Jr. Of this union there was one son, Graham.
Darla was diagnosed with Wagener's soon after finding she was pregnant. Though the doctors wanted her to abort, she battled both for her son and her life. She was not in the battle alone. Ron had his own, and died in Feb. 2002 from Amiloadosis, but not before they were blessed with a trip from the Make A Wish Foundation that sent them to Alaska.
Wagener's took her eye, nose, paralyzed her vocal cords and took most of her hearing; still she battled on. She lived to see her son graduate from the Salon Academy in Inverness and go on to work in Las Vegas, Nevada. He made her so proud.
Darla worked with the Doctors at the University of Gainesville Shands Hospital, allowing them to try new concepts to fight this disease. She trusted her doctors, but most of all she trusted God. Neither failed her.
Green Tree took her trailer at Christmas 2009, being turned down for housing in Citrus County, she kept her faith; God was going to give her a new home. He did! She now sees with both eyes and hears with both ears and sings with the sweetest voice. The battle has been won.
A memorial service will be held at The First Assembly of God Church in Inverness, Florida, with Pastor Dairold Rushing and the Worship Team at 10 a.m. on May 7, 2010. Cremation under the direction of A Direct Cremations in Gainesville, Florida.
Darla is survived by her mother, Mary Horne; brother, Lawrence Horne (Donna); son, Graham Edwin Carman; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by, husband, Ronald R. Carman Jr., 2002; and father, Edgar E. Horne, 2008.

Darla you will be missed so much. I will never forget the first time I came to Inverness to stay the summer with you. I had such a good time that I didn't want to go home. I have so many family memories and I will cherish them forever. I know you are in a much better place and I will see you again someday so save me a spot. Tell Dad & Uncle Ed I said hi and I love them. I didn't tell you as often as I should have but I LOVE you and miss you dearly.......
