Donald Wilson Obituary

Donald Franklin Wilson, 95, commander, U.S. Navy (Ret.), died April 6, 2013, in Lecanto, Fla. He was a code breaker during World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He worked as a marine biologist at the Naval Research Laboratory, outside of Washington, D.C., until his retirement in 1975. He was an acclaimed photographer for the American Orchid Society.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Holt Wilson, and is survived by his daughter, Karen Ann Wilson and her husband, Robert Knight.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, Fla. Burial will be at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
In lieu of Flowers, please make a donation in Donald's name to either the American Orchid Society or the SPCA, both of which he strongly supported.

Thank you for your service to the United States during very difficult times.

I will very much miss Mr. Wilson and will remember our talks fondly. I often told him that he was the smartest and most interesting person that I had ever met.
