Doris Dickens MacDonald, 93 passed away on September 21, 2024. She was born in South Florida in 1931.
She was Christian in faith and proudly served for seven years as a Sergeant in the Womans Army Corp. (WAC) She enjoyed sewing, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel. She also liked playing games and cards, but most of all, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, June (Michael) Thompson, John (Dawn) MacDonald, and Janet MacDonald Nolen; sister-in-law, Ann Dickens; seven grandchildren, Karrie (Tim), Kellie (JJ), Jeffery, Justin (Kayla), Jacob, Johnny, Jonathan (April); six great-grandchildren, London, Graham, Violet, Blythe, Aaron, Hailey, Kirsten; and nieces and nephews, Eddie, Audrey (Mike), Gail (David), Patricia (Johnny), Angie (Robert), Gary (Kenia), Karma (Jeff) , Terri, and a whole host of additional family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. MacDonald; Parents, John and Mabel Dickens, two brothers, Lonnie and Marvin Dickens; two sisters, Louise Bohres and Eillleen Calhoun. Two nieces, Amy Lou Hornbuckle and Pamela Jo McAree.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00pm at Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness, Fl., The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow service at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
