Douglas Desherow Obituary
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jake Desherow and his brother, Edward Desherow 32 years old. Doug is survived by his parents, Jim and Dorothy Desherow; his brothers, Beau and Mike Desherow; his sister, Victoria Davis; twin sister, Debbie Grant; Joni Desherow, the mother of his children; and his children, Hanah and Edward Desherow.
He was a good man and even better father to his children, Hanah and Eddie. His children share his strength of character and his love for fishing. He was a loving uncle to his numerous nephews and nieces to whom he was always there for.
Doug graduated Edmond Memorial High School in 1983. He was an All State quarterback and All City Player of the Year for the Bulldogs. Doug attended Tulsa University on a full scholarship from 1983-87 where he received his degree. He was a standout football player for the Golden Hurricane's in 85,' awarded First Team All M.V.C. in 86,' Floyd Neil Martin Recipient, and in 87' he was an honorable mention All American. Doug Desherow touched all who knew him. He was a leader on both the football field and in life. He was always there for a family member or friend in need. He will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home with Crematory, Crystal River.

I am saddened. I just got back from Afghanistan. Doug saw me off, he was such a ind person. He owes me a Burger. I wanted to find a job before I deployed so I would have something when I returned and he was helping me find that job in DFW Texas. As a kind gesture I brought him back a flag that was flow over Afghanistan. When I retuned I tried to call his old number and the lady said he had passed on. I am shocked and very sad. My deepest condolences to the entire Desherow family, Doug will terribly missed.. He was a loyal and great friend,with whom I had the pleasure of working with over the last several years.. Doug, may there be plenty of fishing and golf in heaven for you my friend! God bless.
