George Pushee Obituary

George Daniel MacGregor Pushee III, 88, passed away on Jan. 3, 2026, in Crystal River, Florida. Born on Sept. 22, 1937, in Lowell, Massachusetts, he led a life marked by service, dedication, and deep family bonds.

Dan married Louise A. (Randall) Pushee in August of 1959. Louise passed away Feb. 19, 2008. Dan's legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife Bonnie (Hardiman) Pushee; his children George D.M. Pushee IV; Margaret Louise Matthews; William Randall Pushee; and Cynthia Ann Brunelle. He was a proud grandfather to Christie Rodriguez and Kelsie Marie Pushee (daughters of George D.M. Pushee IV); Randall MacGregor Pushee, Timothy Dale Pushee and Emma Jean Pushee (children of William Pushee); Marissa Oliva, Madelyn Brunelle, and Padrick runelle (children of Cynthia Brunelle). His joy extended to his great-grandchildren: Elijah, Eva, Emiya (children of Christie Rodriguez); Tatum Rae Pushee (daughter of Timothy Pushee), and Jacob Merritt (son of Kelsie Pushee).

Dan graduated from Lowell Technological Institute in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plastic Engineering. That same year, he received his ROTC commission into the United States Air Force. He served honorably as an engineer from 1960-69, attaining the rank of Captain. His military service reflected his commitment to both country and innovation during a pivotal era in American history.

Following his military career, Dan transitioned into the expanding field of plastics engineering. He began working with Monsanto in 1969 and later joined Foster-Grant/American Hoechst in Leominster, Massachusetts. When the Leominster facility closed in July of 1984, he relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia, continuing his work with the company. He concluded his professional journey as a Senior Product Engineer for Huntsman Corporation, retiring on April 3, 1998. Throughout his career, Dan was known for his technical expertise and steadfast work ethic.

After retirement Dan remained active in the Crystal River, Florida area. He became an Associate member of the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador in 2009. Dan was chairman in 2013. He served on the Citrus County Board of Directors from January 2012 to 2014. He was a member of the Gulf to Lake Baptist Church in Crystal River.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dan was deeply involved in Freemasonry throughout his lifetime. He was the owner and Publisher of MW Design and Publishing which managed 35 domains. His affiliations and recognitions within the Masonic community were numerous and meaningful to him; a detailed account of these can be found at mwsite.org/sites/.

A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, veteran, engineer, and Mason – Dan's life was one of purpose and impact. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and inspiration to those who follow in his footsteps.

A Military Honors Committal Service will be held on June 22 at 9:30 a.m., at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell.
