Herbert O. Neeld Sr.

Herbert O. Neeld Sr., 92, of Crystal River, FL, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1932, to Louis and Lucille Neeld in Inglis, FL, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 58 years Thelma Jean, his children: Barbara Lowery (Michael), Michael Chapman, Jeanine Post (Greg), Herbert Neeld Jr. (Kelly), and Yuteva Monsegar (John), Patricia Bennett, his brother Gilbert Neeld; his sisters, Euverla Newman, Magalene Hawthorne and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others of his extended family.

Herbert was a longtime member of the Church of God. He was also an ordained minister and missionary – evangelist serving many churches, missions and peoples of Haiti, Ghana, Guyana, Nigeria, and the United States of America. Beginning in 1989, he worked to establish many churches in both the US and abroad; he helped establish and support schools for children. His preaching, teaching and crusade evangelism to thousands of people that accepted Christ and are now in the Kingdom of God!

He proudly served with distinction in the United States Air Force in post World War 2 Japan.

The funeral service will begin at 1 PM on Monday, May 12th, at the Crystal River Church of God with Pastor Ronnie Reid officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the service time at the church. Interment will be held following the service at Stage Pond Cemetery.
