Irvin Hendren Obituary
Irvin "Irv" Hendren, 77 of Homosassa, FL passed away Sunday August 24, 2025 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. He was born April 20, 1948 to Eugene and Emma Hendren in Harrodsburg, KY.
Irv was a US Army veteran and was retired from the IBM Corporation after 30 years of service. Irv was an active member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the fun Karaoke times. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Wendell Hendren and his sister Theresa Davis. He is survived by his wife Sandra Hendren, son Chad Hendren, daughter Shelly Smith (Mike), grandchildren Harrison Hendren, Caleb Smith (Jordan), Carter Smith (Taylor) and Karissa Smith (Misha), sister-in-law Ann Hendren, step-son Michael Flake (Donna), step-daughter Gina Strickland (Lyman), Step-grandchildren; Haylee and Michayla Flake, Evan and Alex (Cynthia) Strickland.
A memorial service will begin at 4 PM on Thursday August 28th at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, FL. The family will be receiving friends from 3 PM until service time at the chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal River, FL.

Don and I have been friends with Irv and Sandy for several years and have shared many fun times. We will miss Irv so much and his great sense of humor. Love to Sandy as we send our deepest sympathy.

I knew Irv through Twisted Oaks Golf Course and for 5 years considered him a friend. He was a very fun loving man with a great personality who never met a stranger. I will really miss him and his smile at 6 AM sitting with his friends known as the PORCH PIRATES.
