John Hessinger Obituary

John N. Hessinger, 87, of Beverly Hills, Florida, died on Friday, January 21, 2011.
He was born in Ridgewood, New York, on Thursday, August 2, 1923, to Leonard and Elizabeth A. (Kilian) Hessinger. Mr. Hessinger was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during WWII. John was a retired Nuclear Quality Control Supervisor, Crystal River plant, and also an Instructor's Aide at the Key Training Center. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Crystal River, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Church Council and managed bingo for twenty years. He was a volunteer for Doctor Ride for six years, coordinating rides for the elderly to their doctor appointments.
Mr. Hessinger was preceded in death by his son, James C. Hessinger, and daughter, Marianne Hessinger.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Rose Hessinger of Beverly Hills, Florida; son, Philip J. Hessinger and wife Katie of Crystal River, Florida; daughters, Joanne Brewster and husband Robert of Beverly Hills, Florida, Mary E. Eckl and husband Greg of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Eileen Quinn and husband Paul of Inverness, Florida, and Cathleen Munn of Citrus Springs, Florida; nephew, Robert Hessinger and wife Yumi of Japan; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
Services for Mr. Hessinger will be private.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Fero Funeral Home.

Mary and Family.
I am so sorry to read about John's passing. Though I haven't seen him in a long while he was always one of my favorite people helping others. I am sure he will be missed. Love You Mary

John was a man of many stories and was always a pleasure to talk with. I lost touch with him after he retired but would bump into him once every year or so. He was always the first to ask how you were doing. John, you will be missed, I'll catch up to you one day and we can then sit down for another enjoyable talk. Best to you (Mary) and you kids.
