John Johnson Obituary

The Service of Remembrance for Mr. John W. Johnson Sr., age 89 years, of Inverness, will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Inverness. Those who wish, may make memorial donations to their favorite charity. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.HooperFuneralHome.com.

He was born September 9, 1935 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Marlin Fritz and Mildred Ann Murphy Johnson and passed away September 8, 2024 in Inverness.

Mr. Johnson was a Senior Executive for the US Air Force and a member of First Methodist Church of Crestview. He graduated and played football for the University of Florida.

He was preceded in death by daughter Carrie (Jeff) Fowler. Surviving are his wife Mary Epperson Johnson; 2 Sons: John (Carolyn) Johnson and Robert (Nikki) Johnson; and daughter: Rachel (Scott) Donovan; 10 Grandchildren: Jenna Smith, Danny Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Erin Johnson, Matthew Tedder, Zachary Tedder, Jeremiah Donovan, Nate Fowler; Xander Fowler and Maggie Rudisil; 8 Great-Grandchildren.

Arrangements under the direction of the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes.
