Jonathan Barnes, 64 of Crystal River, Fl passed away Monday August 25, 2025 at the Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. He was born November 21, 1960 in Inverness, FL and was a life-long resident.
Jonathan was a Crystal River High School graduate and a US Navy Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Barnes and Sara Lyons, and his granddaughter Cayla Barnes. He is survived by his son Sean Barnes (Jessica), his daughter Heather Zapf, brothers Scotty Barnes (Caroline), Lex Barnes (Lucy), sister Susan Littrell (Mark), grandchildren; Aaron and Skylar Zapf, Aidan and Brantley Barnes, several nieces and nephews and his stepmother Linda Scarbury.
Inurnment with military honors will take place at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal River, FL.
