Merle R. Pulver

Mr. Merle R. Pulver, age 82, of Homosassa, Fla., died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in Homosassa, Fla.
He was born July 4, 1931, in Rochester, N.Y., and was the son of the late Arthur and Inez (Stamp) Pulver. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the infantry and rising to the rank of sergeant during the Korean War. He retired as a sales representative from Eastman Chemical in 1986 after 35 years. Mr. Pulver was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto and attended Whitehall Evangelical Covenant Church in Whitehall, Mich. He was a member and past commodore of the White Lake Yacht Club and was member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Pulver enjoyed restoring homes and fixing things and was an avid rose gardener. A very patriotic American, he was a devout family man. While he enjoyed watching wildlife, he truly enjoyed socializing and his evening cookies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marti P. Oswald. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Margot S. Pulver of Homosassa, Fla.; son, Murray S. Pulver of Whitehall, Mich.; daughter, Maija P. Anderson of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and two sisters, Joyce Bennett of Lyndonville, N.Y., and Mary Lou Stage of Spencerport, N.Y. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Celeste, Carlie, Palmer and Gabriel.
