Michael George Koch, age 33, of Beverly Hills, Florida, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 21, 2025. He now has new life in Christ and is running free after enduring health challenges all his life.
Michael was born on September 8, 1991, at Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a 2009 graduate of West Jefferson High School in West Jefferson, Ohio where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Marching and Concert Bands. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated with honors in 2016 from Keiser University in Daytona Beach, Florida and was proud to have worked at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Michael never met a stranger, greeted everyone with a smile, and was a good friend to many. Michael was a sports enthusiast and loved the Pittsburgh sports teams, most especially the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. He was the one you wanted on your trivia game team, and he enjoyed participating in adaptive sports.
Michael is survived by his parents, The Rev. Dennis and Linda Koch of Beverly Hills. He is also survived by grandparents Ronald and Shirley Koch of Phoenix, Arizona and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved dog, Ginger. Michael is predeceased by grandparents Robert and Lois Christ of McMurray, Pennsylvania.
A service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 E. Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando, FL at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Visitation with the family will start at 10:00 am. Interment will follow on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Garden of Resurrection at Grace Lutheran Church, 338 Ocean Shore Boulevard, Ormond Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the ministries at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 E. Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando, FL 34442 in Michael's memory or to the Rotary Club of Inverness Foundation, P.O. Box 1317, Inverness, FL 34451 for their inclusive playground project at Bryant Park.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of The Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hernando, Florida for their loving care of Michael over the last 3 1/2 years.

Lived in the dorms at UofA and he was kind to me. We always played this game called "The Game" and you'd lose if you even thought of the game. We would constantly message each other when we lost and he honestly helped with the culture shock and homesickness I had. Truly a kind person and I'm glad to have met him

I never met Michael in person but socially on a Pittsburgh Penguins site. He lived the Penguins for sure. His strength and drive inspired me like no other. RIP Michael you left many great memories and touched the lives of to many to count.
