Michael G. Schena, age 79 of Hernando, FL passed away August 18, 2023 at the Life Care Center of Citrus County. He was born in Blackburn, England on April 14, 1944 to the late Gerald and Iris (Entwistle) Schena. Mike moved to the Citrus Hills community in 2007 from Wolfeboro, NH.
He enjoyed playing golf (especially the after party at the Tiki bar) with a large group of close friends. He was an entrepreneur who founded several businesses including Pioneer Video Productions, a professional videography company. His outgoing personality brought joy to many people. His love of photography and keen eye left us with many photos and stories of his extensive travels across the US, Europe, Africa and Australia/New Zealand. He was always optimistic as he climbed for his dreams and supported others as they strove for theirs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon (Justice) Schena of Hernando, FL; his son, Graham M. (Kirstin) Schena of Weston, MA and his daughter, Lorna Moss of North Smithfield, RI; 2 sisters: Ginny Alden of Scituate, MA and Judy Bourque of Sanford, ME; 4 grandchildren: Mitchell Moss, Rachel Moss, Grace Schena and Cooper Schena.
There will be a family gathering to celebrate his life at a later date. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation, Inverness, FL

God rest your soul my Godfather! I just found out today of Michaels passing. Our families did not stay close over the years but I have fond memories of my times with "Big Mike" as we called him. My thoughts and prayers are with Sharon, Graham, Lorna and Virginia and Judy. May you all be well.

Bill and I are so sorry to learn of Mike's death. We remember sitting in the audience watching his film. I especially remember when I turned 65 and he bought me a drink and cupcake at the Grill so many years ago. We enjoyed our memories of beautiful Wolfeboro, the boat ride, the ice cream and of course the famous lobster rolls.
Our condolences to you and your family.
