Raymond B Hoadley, Jr., age 70, of Inverness, FL passed away July 21, 2023 at HCA Citrus Hospital in Inverness, FL.
Raymond was born in Miami, went to South West Miami High School and lettered twice in both football and track. Friendships he made in school are still treasured and strong today. Ray spent four years in the Navy and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. After the Navy he attended and graduated Miami Dade CC with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Raymond was a retired Detective, Homicide Bureau with the Miami-Dade Police Department. His career was strong and respected in Law Enforcement. He was Lead Investigator and/or participated in over 600 homicide and death investigations. There are so many accommodations and letters too numerous to mention but one, a letter from William Sessions, Director FBI 1991.
He retired in 2011 from Law Enforcement and migrated north to Virginia to become Corporate Director of Security for a large Hospital System where he rewrote most of their significant Security policies. Again, Ray became highly respected for not only his strength of character but his sense of humor as well. Final Retirement found Ray in 2018 in Citrus County to a life of leisure, friendship, family and peace. He enjoyed traveling, reading, puttering in the yard and watching old movies. And of course, verbal sparring with his valued friends and former partners was a favorite.
Survived by his wife, Karen Hoadley; four children, Raymond B Hoadley, III, Christopher Hoadley and his wife Ariel, Robert Hoadley, Rachel Baroncelli and her husband John; two sisters, Judy Johnson and her husband Donald, Susan Talley and two grandchildren. Parents deceased.

Nancy... so sorry for your loss. Condolences to the boys. Many memories of the stories we would compare of yours and my boys playing baseball although separately very much the same.
Sincere condolences your friend Debbie
