Richard Cabbut McConnell died August 21, 2023 at the Royal Dalton House in Homosassa, Florida. He was 91 years old.
Dick was born on February 25, 1932 in Massillon, Ohio. Parents are William Cameron McConnell and Florence Marie Cabbut, deceased. Dick grew up in Massillon, Ohio with two older brothers, Bill McConnell and John McConnell, deceased.
After attending many schools as his parents moved quite often, he joined the Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge after serving two years as a corporal. He worked at many jobs. He enjoyed being a small business consultant. He also taught a class at Aurora University, called small business starting.
Dick married Gloria Lowery on July 13, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They raised three children, two sons, Richard and Alan and a daughter Joy Bailey, deceased. Dick returned to Inverness, Florida and had a house built in the community of "The Moorings" He enjoyed boating and fishing. He joined the Power Squadron boating club of Crystal River, Florida and made many friends. He was on television promoting boat safety on WYKE.
He is survived by his two sons, Richard and Alan McConnell and a grandson, Brain McConnell. Also, his special lady friend Roberta Morrison and all his friends from the Moorings and the Power Squadron.
Remember the poem, someone would ask Dick, How are You? Fine as Wine, Dandy as Brandy and Frisky as Whiskey.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 6, 2023 at the Cove: 1242 S. Cove Camp Point, Inverness, Florida at 11:30 AM. No flowers. Please send donations to your favorite charity.

We were so sorry to hear of Richard´s passing. We enjoyed being neighbors and our get togethers. Especially the lunch dates with the guys. Sending love to his family and Roberta.

Richard, Roberta , Jerry and myself use a lot fun going out together and enjoyed having them over for dinner. All good memories!
