Roman Siminski Obituary

Roman "Ray" Siminski, 82, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away July 17, 2015, after a brief illness.
Ray was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Utica, New York, the son of the late Peter and Cecilia Ruszczek Szymanski. He attended Utica schools. He retired from Utica State Hospital after more than 35 years of service. Ray enjoyed his retirement immensely. He traveled for a period of time, including a stay in Alabama near his eldest son. He eventually settled down in Beverly Hills, Florida, where he met his partner and the light of his life, Carol Harrington. Together, they took frequent trips around the eastern part of the country, including Carol's home state of West Virginia. Ray was meticulous in everything that he did, from remodeling his last home in Utica to manicuring his lawn in Beverly Hills. The work was always as perfect as he could get it. His tool shed was a page out of a magazine.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Joseph and Helen Szymanski, Walter and Stella Szymanski; as well as his sister and brother-in-law Stella and Edward Siuta; and his granddaughter Terra Siminski. He is survived by his spouse, Carol; her sons and daughter-in-law; grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law Thaddeus and Irene Siminski; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Shelly Siminski; son Raymond Siminski; daughters Mary Dean and Aileen Siminski; grandson Matthew Siminski; good friend and favorite chef Ursula Todd; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A special thanks to HPH Hospice in Lecanto, Florida, for their kind and compassionate care.
Arrangements for his cremation will be handled by Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, Florida. Interment will be at a later date at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes, West Virginia.

Today is your birthday and I am thinking of you as I do everyday. I am grateful to have met you at that dance and blessed to have spent the next 20 years with you. Those were wonderful years filled with love, kindness, compassion, and lots of dances and laughter. You helped me in so many ways and I appreciate you more than you know. I learned not to live in the past. Although I would love to go back to that time, I know I can't. You are still in my heart and I think of you everyday with love and remember our adventures and great times together. Thank you Ray for the love and happiness you brought to me. I know I will see you again and what a blessing and great day that will be!! Save the next dance for me!
Happy Birthday
Love, Carol

Today makes 8 years since you have been gone. My memories remain very precious. You were always such a caring, loving soul and you remain in my heart. You are still a part of me. That will never change. I miss you, but understand that it was your time to go. I know I will see you again and that will be a joyous day! Loved you then, still love you now!

Ray, This Sunday will be 7 years since you have been gone. There hasn´t been a day that I haven´t missed you. I will always love you and cherish memories of our time together. The last two weeks have been hard thinking about our last days together. I relive those days every year. Most of my memories make me smile. We had a beautiful life together. Looking back you always think of things that could have been handled better. My regrets are few. You knew I loved you and I knew you loved me. We weren´t perfect, but we were happy. I thank you for that happy life. I will see one day again and will be a happy day!!!

Dad, I messed up my true thoughts. I am trying so hard to accept the loss of you. You gave me your hopes for my life, yet you stood back and let me choose. I let you down, and more of myself. I love you with all of me. You are in my heart, my being forever. Thank you for being my dad.
