Ronald Cabrera Obituary

Ronald Cabrera, 61, of Homosassa, died Fri., April 22, 2011, in Inverness.
He was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Manuel and Beulah Cabrera.
Ronnie was a jack of all trades; he loved to work with his hands and if he couldn't fix it, he would study it until he could. He was a fisherman, even though he couldn't swim, he worked with stucco for many years, a shade tree mechanic and he did air condition maintenance. He had many hobbies of piddling with things he wanted to fix. Above all, he loved his family. Ronnie didn't belong to a church, but he believed in God.
In addition to his parents, those who went before him and who are waiting on the other side to greet him: his stepmother Mona Shiver Cabrera; brother Edward Cabrera and sister Joann Cabrera Gavin. Ronnie never married; he is survived by his fiancée of many years, Valorie L. Lyles of Homosassa: They had built a life together, she was his wife in all manner except that piece of paper, her children were his children - Amy, Dallas, Orson and Ricky; sister Darlene Cabrera McCoy of Jacksonville; stepsister Shira Shiver Altier; brothers Manuel (Amber) Cabrera of Tampa, Keith (Helen) Cabrera of Homosassa and Mike Farr of Waycross, GA.; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and remembrance gathering will be held 2 p.m. Sat., May 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Homosassa with Pastor Troy Stafford officiating. Condolence may be given at www.wilderfuneral.com.
