Russell "Rusty" Ruvolo, of Inverness, passed away at his home on April 28, 2024. He was 70. Rusty was born on Oct. 11, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, to parents: Russell and Ruth (Ferri) Ruvolo.
Rusty was the fourth of eight children. He leaves behind siblings: Wayne, Lynne, Dana, Dionne, Rene, and Scott. Both parents and brother, Craig, preceded him in death. Rusty had one Son, Keith Ruvolo, of Virginia. Keith's children are: Sean, Keith, Spencer, Adelaide, and Niko. Rusty also had one daughter, Katrina Prue (husband Brenden Prue), of Florida. They have one son, Jayden. He leaves behind many loving family members and friends, as well as his loving partner of three years Dalane "Moki" Camacho.
Rusty lived most of his life in Queens, New York. During his 55 years there he had a delivery service, drove a taxi, worked for Pepsi, Wise Potato Chips, and King Kullen Grocery Store. In 2009, shortly after the birth of his grandson, he moved to Florida to be near him. There he became the world's best "Pop-Pop." He truly loved being a grandfather. It gave his life a whole new meaning.
Soon after moving to Florida he began working at the Inverness Walmart in the produce department, where he worked until his passing. His big boisterous personality, friendly smile, and eagerness to help made him hard to miss, and endeared him to many. Rusty was a drummer, and lover of music. He loved his motorcycle, and taking rides when the weather was cool. Most of all Rusty loved his family: his children, son-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, and extended family. He loved his friends. He was a fierce protector of those he cared about.
He loved to make people happy; he loved to make people laugh. Rusty will be remembered for many things that made him wonderful: his loud voice, giant presence, and unmatched sense of humor, as well as his big loving heart, and generous nature. To know him truly was to love him. He will be deeply missed. We will keep him in our hearts forever until we see him again in paradise (Revelation 21:3-5).
There will be a celebration of Rusty's life held on Saturday, May 25 at the Davis Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care 3075 S Florida Ave., Inverness, FL 34450.

We had the privilege of meeting Rusty in 2014 at Walmart. We enjoyed talking with him whenever he had time. We could always count on him being somewhere in the produce department whenever we had questions. We miss him and know what a difficult time this is for his family and many friends. Our heartfelt condolences to all.
