Scott C. Anderson, 61, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away November 12, 2022. Scott was born August 17, 1961, to the late Dr. Ramon and Josephine (McCall) Anderson.
He was born in Tampa, FL, but was a Key Training Center client for 24 years and resided at a group home on the Lecanto campus of the Key.
Scotty loved life and never knew a stranger. He made friends with anyone. Some of his favorite things were Wendy's Frosty's, hamburgers and pancakes. In his younger days, he would ride his bicycle around Ozello listening to his cassette player with the oldies playing. He loved old TV shows and the "Dukes of Hazzard" was one of his favorites.
He became a client of the Key Training Center in the late '90s, where he thrived for years. Living in his own apartment, working in the community and visiting Ozello on weekends. In his latter years, he moved into a group home.
As his health declined, he was very loved by Key Center staff and considered them part of his family. He loved them all, especially when he went on outings or got a favorite meal. He will be greatly missed by all.
Scotty is survived by his sister, Paige Jones of Ozello, FL, niece, Heather Almond (Scott) of Tennessee, nephew, Justin Jones (Kaelynd) of Homosassa, FL. Great niece and nephews Samantha, Matthew, Raelynn and Easton and several cousins in Illinois.
There will be no service. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Please consider a donation to the Key Training Center in his honor.

Paige & Family,
I hold many fond memories of Scotty growing up in Ozello. He was everybody's little brother even though he was older than us. If you were in the area back then chances were great you would see him on his bike. Later years I would run in to him at the bakery in Winn Dixie which was close to his apt at the time. He loved his sweets. He was a good person. You, Heather, Justin and family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I started working at the Key about 10 yrs ago and Scotty was one of the first clients to learn my name and greet me daily. He'd often stop by my desk and ask what I was doing, or tell me about vintage cars. On occasion, when the mood struck him, he would join me for his snack time or lunch and we would listen to classic rock while we dined. Scott was always quiet, observant, interested, interesting and a favorite with many of the staff who considered Scotty a true friend. I will miss him and his sense of humor!
