Scott George Houts passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022 after a long illness. Born on May 5, 1958 in his hometown of Nashua NH.
A die-hard New England Sports fan, Scott would watch any and all New England sports teams but his favorite was the Boston Red Sox. His fondest memory would likely be when the Red Sox broke the curse in 2004 winning the World Series, second only to his wedding and birth of his children … of course…
Scott was an incredibly creative man. A machinist by trade for his whole life, his abilities went far beyond the day to day tasks of a machinist. He was able to curate projects from start to finish. From the initial design concept, to laying out the blue prints and finally seeing the project come to fruition, Scott had a talent and an eye for his craft that could simply not be taught. Scott's talent with metal was only matched by his ability to grow literally anything. He loved being outside in his greenhouse.
Scott was a good and decent man with an intense love of music, a playful sense of humor, and a fondness for VERY strong coffee. He could be found most days in his garage, tinkering with a project and listening to music. He had a passion for good music that he passed on to his children who to this day can sing along to some of the '70s and '80s greatest hits with the best of them, thanks to their dad.
Scott is survived by his soulmate and love of his life Catherine (nee. Lapoint) who was his constant and best friend for 36 years. Together they created a beautiful family, their daughters Cyndal Houts and Kayla (Houts) Walsh and her husband Kenneth and son Sgt. E. Scott Houts and his wife Beranda.
One of Scott's greatest joys in his life were his children, that is until his grandchildren came along. They were the absolute light of his life. Haileigh, Adalin, Kenny, Hannah, Madison and Connor loved coming to Pop's house to sit on his lap and eat twizzlers, cookies, ice cream and any other treats he could sneak them when no one was looking. He loved them hard and they loved him back.
Scott is also survived by his loving sister Susan Carmen (Houts), his Godmother Suzanne Connor, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends. Scott never met a stranger and will be terribly missed by his family and everyone whose life he touched.
Scott was welcomed to heaven by his parents Patricia Houts (nee. Sullivan) and father Raymond Houts and his beloved Grandmother Isabel Sullivan.
The Family will receive visitors at Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto on Thursday April 21, 2022 from 4pm – 7 pm. Scott will be laid to rest privately with his family; however, a celebration of his life will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to HPH Hospice/Citrus Care Center in Scott's Memory to honor the tremendous care he received.
