With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan J. (Korinek) Scotto on April 27, 2025, at her home in Lecanto, Florida, where she died of natural causes.
Born in New York City on July 15, 1943, to John and Florence Korinek, Susan grew up in Miller Place, Long Island, alongside her six beloved sisters. From an early age, she embraced life's adventures with determination and grace. After graduating high school, she embarked on a career as a dedicated secretary in New York City, starting her days before dawn and commuting to the bustling heart of Manhattan.
It was during this time that she began dating her future husband, Domenic. Their love story was one of devotion and adventure, leading them across the country – from Indiana to Chicago, then California – where they built cherished memories exploring on motorcycles before returning home to New York. There, they helped run the family grocery store and started their own family, before settling in Florida in 1985.
Susan found solace and joy in her faith as a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal River. The Bible, her church family, and her unwavering belief in God brought her profound peace throughout her life. She was an avid reader, losing herself in the twists and turns of mystery novels, and loved treasure hunting for antiques and collectibles, always delighting in uncovering history's hidden gems.
She also had a deep love for birds, finding beauty in their grace and song. Whether watching them soar across the sky or listening to their melodies from her window, Susan found comfort and joy in nature's feathered companions.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Susan is survived by her children, Nicole Bogeajis and Jonathan Scotto; her grandchildren, Kristen Bogeajis Reid and Zachary Bogeajis; and her sisters, Marylou Fehrman, Kathleen Knoernschild, and Carol Iwanicki.
A private cremation has been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, Florida.
May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever carried in the hearts of those who loved her.

Susan was one of the most selfless people I have ever known. She was a devoted Christian Sister in my Sunday School Class, Seeking Sisters. She was always ready to help someone without compensation or recognition. She was a wonderful servant for our Lord Jesus Christ. She will be so missed here but truly welcomed into Heaven by our Lord.
