It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Trudy Gilley Guthrie at 56 years of age on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. Trudy's passion in life was her family.
Trudy was born in Brooksville, Florida to Wayne and Elsie Gilley. She was the fourth oldest of six children.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ellen Gilley, her Nonnie, Elsie Trotter Baker, Dad, Wayne Gilley, and Aunt, Rhonda Kirkland. Trudy is survived by her husband, Jonathan Guthrie, son, Garrett Wayne Gapp, daughter, Haley McLaine Below, and siblings: Tony Gilley, Terry Bellamy, Tracy Gilley, and Milinda Slaughter.
She was a proud Nana to Kendall, Kyleigh, Brantley, Brayson, Asher, and Declan Gapp. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends.
Trudy was a kind, giving and loyal person. She loved being on the water with family and friends, scalloping, fishing, and sunbathing. Trudy was an amazing cook, Austin Garrett Slaughter said it best, "Aunt Trudy's Mac & Cheese is delicious, and I sure am going to miss it, because no-one can make it like her."
Trudy was very proud of her two children. Her favorite job title was Mom. She loved being a homemaker and would often say that her greatest accomplishment in life were her children and grandchildren.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Christian Center Church, 7961 W. Green Acres St., Homosassa on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m.
