The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Victor Philip Bosteels, age 69 years, of Lecanto, will be celebrated Monday 11:00am, September 8, 2025 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Lecanto. Friends may call from 10:30 until the service at the church. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with full military honors.
Mr. Bosteels was born May 30, 1956 in Everett, Massachusetts, to Victor and Mildred Oberlander Bosteels and passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 in Lecanto.
He retired from the United States Navy as a Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps after first serving as a corpsman attaining the rank of 1st Class Petty Officer. Mr. Bosteels enjoyed golfing, reading, military history and playing the guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife: Lynn Petzing Bosteels; 3 daughters: Melissa Golden, Kristin Bosteels, and Elizabeth (Brad) Lajoie; a brother: Mark Bosteels; and 3 grandchildren: Sophia, Teddy and Fiona.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to St. Jude's Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes.
