Cathy I just recently found out about your husband's passing and just wanted you to know how much I respected him and the work he did. You don't know me, but I worked on 5 Main at fort Hamilton Hospital and had the pleasure of working with him and assisting him in procedures and talking to patients in difficult situations for over 20 years. He did wonderful caring work .

I did not know of Dr Richards death. I was just trying to locate him to thank him for saving my life. This year will be my 30th year cancer free because of him. I wanted to let him know I was still here and have enjoyed the best years of my life, which I would never even have had without his care and treatment. Non hogkins lymphoma was not and is not an easy fix, especially 30 years ago. Thank you Dr Richards, and his family-be even more proud!

May you find the courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today.

I will remember him as a phenomenally compassionate and yet humor-filled oncologist, one who truly walked alongside all of his patients in their times of need, me included. I recently was able to visit the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem, and it brought to mind the many stories Dr. Richards and I shared about faith, which will remain some of my fondest memories.
We will pray for the repose of his soul, and for strength for the entire family as you deal with the absence of his presence. God bless.

I recall Artie as one f the nicest, most decent human beings I ever knew. We were never close at
Walnut Hills, though after several long discussions at out 50th reunion we exchanged a number of emails about medical matters and religion.

I worked with Dr. Richards for 15 years. He was the nicest doctor to all of his patients and staff. Always walking his patients out to the desk, with a hug and kiss.
When my husband passed away, he sent me the sweetest note, I'll never forget, and would always stop at my desk, to ask me how I was doing.
He was one in a million.
So very sorry to all of his family, he loved you so.
Sincerely,
Kay M. Houston

Art was such a special man. His manner, compassion, and professionalism was in a class by itself. He was not only my oncologist but he was my friend. We are so saddened for his beautiful family at the loss of this amazing man. Please accept our condolences and know that our hearts and thoughts are with you.

I owe so much to this great man. I was a patient under his care for 15 plus years. I have a rare blood disease which he was determined to find a name for and he did after much relentless research. He assisted me in both of my high risk pregnancies. Without him, I truly believe I would not have my daughters. Cayley-17 yrs and Ashlyn-13 yrs. Dr. Richards was caring, kind and compassionate, listening and instructing me or simply a shoulder to cry on. He was indeed an angel on this earth. He touched many lives, including mine and will be deeply missed.

My sincerest condolences to you. Dr. Richards was my oncologist from his diagnosis of my lymphoma to my remission...and for eight years after that. He was a compassionate, caring man who always had time for my incessant questions. His smile was contagious and his humanity was boundless.

He will be missed.
