Bruce was one of the finest people I have met in this world. Always kind, encouraging, and positive. All of it done with a smile and a sense of concern for your well being.
He will be missed by all who knew him...sending prayers and condolences too the family.

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Bruce. He was such a supporter of band camps and such a fine player with lots of enthusiasm
for the instrument. He will certainly be missed.

We will miss Bruce at band camp. I had the privilege of sitting next to him at Chautauqua. Too bad we didn't get to play his arrangements with the horns, as one person dropped out after the first day. Bruce needed four players to try his arrangements. Will always remember his great playing.

I am really going to miss Bruce. I chatted with him at the last day of the Chautauqua New Horizons camp and he seemed fine. Pat and I admired the support and care he always gave to Eleanor. He contributed much to the New Horizons movement.
I will always remember him as a good friend and an excellent musician. Roy Ernst

I am so sad to hear of Bruce's passing. He was a great horn player and enthusiastic participant of any horn group we got going at Band Camp. I will miss his skill and his quick wit!

Dick and I were so sorry to learn this news. We encountered Bruce and Eleanor on several New Horizons events, including Chautauqua camp, OMEA Regional NH band, NH camp in Georgia, and when they visited our Lexington NH band during a tour a few years ago. He was also very helpful to us by sharing his arrangements of music for our Woodwind quintet a few years ago. He will be missed!

Our deepest sympathies during this difficult time for your family. Bruce was generous with his time. He was a kind man and had a gentle soul. He took both my sons under his wing when they joined WCSO three years ago. On our first night, he came over and introduced himself to me. He was always trying to recruit me to join and to relearn how to play an instrument. My sons and I will miss him dearly. May you find peace in your memories of Bruce.

My whole family is very sad to learn of Bruce's death. I remember "meeting" him on Liz's Facebook page. Then we began to go to breakfast together -- Liz, Eleanor, Liz's friend Jim, and me. I was so happy to go hear Bruce and Eleanor play in a couple of concerts. I was always intrigued by how much Bruce knew and how wide his interests were. He was witty, kind, compassionate. It's a great loss. Bruce served the world, was always ready for a new challenge and a new friendship.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. I have always enjoyed Bruce's political post . With the election on the horizon Bruce always had food for thought and would start a very informed discussion on all the candidates. Bruce was a thoughtful, intelligence genius of a man. We will miss him being in our life, we always looked forward to seeing him and Eleanor at band camps. Rest with the Angels Bruce.

I regret now that I never had the chance to meet Bruce in person. I only knew him on social media, through Eric.
He was always exceptionally kind to me, and even offered to help me (someone he barely knew) after I had surgery.
It was clear from his posts that Bruce adored his family, and was exceeding proud of his children and grandchildren.
My favorite memories of Bruce, however, are of his comments to my Facebook posts. That may seem a strange thing to remember, but his comments were always so informative, educational (if not slightly off-topic) and funny, in a delightful "nutty professor" kind of way.
After posting of his passing on Facebook, I was surprised by how many of my friends (who didn't know Bruce or his family) said they had enjoyed reading his comments and would really miss him.
I will really miss him, too. I find myself wondering where I will find another person so willing to participate in my extended discussions on the fascinating subject of grammar.
My sincerest condolences to the family. Farewell, Bruce; "and may angels sing thee to thy rest."
How I wish you were here to explain the history of that quote.

My deepest condolences to your family. I did not know Bruce especially well -- just as a fellow member of the pit orchestra for a number of MCP productions -- but I will remember him for his kindness, his friendliness, and his boundless enthusiasm and energy. Please know that he will be greatly missed.
