Charles ROESCH Obituary

ROESCH Charles Hubert; died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday June 19, 2008. He was 77 years old. Charles "Chuck" Roesch grew up in Hamilton. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton. He worked for four years at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Dayton. He joined Champion International in 1957 where he served as Executive Assistant to the President, General Manager of the Piqua plant, Converting Manager, General Manager, Vice President for Multi-Wall Bags, and Director of the Hamilton Knightsbridge facility where he oversaw its expansion. Chuck was active with a variety of community organizations, including serving as the Chair of the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Hamilton Bi-Centennial Commission, and he chaired the building committee for the Fitton Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. He was also a trustee of the Hamilton Community Foundation, and chaired the Miami Community Foundation and Miami University-Hamilton's Endowment Foundation. In 1985, he was named one of the 25 most influential persons in Butler County. He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth, children Lynda, Therese and husband David Hoffman, Mary and husband Frank Rosen, Charles and wife Melanie, and Monica and husband John Malone, and fifteen grandchildren Stephen, Nathan, Michael, and Emily Hoffman; Bryon, Erin, and Jennifer Rosen; Laura Franchini, Benjamin, Gregory, and Matthew Roesch; Mary Lynn, Matthew, Jonathan, and Christopher Malone, and one great grandchild Luke Franchini. His sister Eileen Newman and brother Richard Roesch survived him. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Paul and sisters Emily, Edith, and Thelma. A memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church 400 Nilles Rd. Fairfield, Ohio on Friday, June 20th at 7:30 PM., with Fr. Larry Tharp officiating. Memorials may be made to the Badin High School Development Fund, Hospice of Cincinnati, or the American Parkinson's Foundation.
