Dr. Manolis (aka Chris) was a great professor and one of my favorite teachers. He was a mentor for me beyond Marketing class junior year. I talked with him at length about going back to school for a PhD or MBA. I have an MBA now, but if I ever go back for a PhD, I will be thinking of him. Thoughts, prayers, and condolences to his family. He was a great man and is missed.

I had the honor of having Chris twice as a professor during my time at Xavier and both his upbeat personality and sense of humor helped keep me going despite the heavy courseload I was carrying in addition to working full time. He was always a good sounding board and his classes always had a very upbeat and positive atmosphere. I remember many times he took the time to just listen. Chris believed in his students and cared a great deal which meant a lot. My heart goes out to Mary Beth and his three daughters.

I loved and looked up to Chris. He is the one who set me on the path of academia. He helped me so much throughout my college years, and became one of my best friends. I wouldn't be the man I am today without him. He will be missed everyday. My thoughts and prayers for Mary Beth and his girls.

Both Chris and his sister, Tammi, were willed to us if anything ever happened to their parents. That is about as close as you can get. Chris might have been our son. He and our son, Chris, were best friends from grade school until his passing. My heart aches for Mary Beth, their girls, his students and all who knew and loved him. The greatest thing said about Chris was said by our son when he said, "Anyone who ever met Chris Manolis, was better for having had that experience."

RIP Chris Manolis. My heart goes out to your wife, your three beautiful daughters, your family, friends, colleagues and students.I hope that time and support from loved ones will heal their grief and they may cherish the memories of the unique human being that was you. As brief as our encounter was, it was an honor to have met you.

No words could every fully express the feeling of sadness and grief when I heard the news. Chris and I had been friends for 40 years and had grown up together, learned together, drove together, water skied together, but mostly laughed together.
Chris was a cheerleader. He would listen to your every word and when you were talking it was as if the whole world melted away. He would ask the most insightful questions and when he laughed, the world knew. I will forget the way that, when you shared something that hurt, you could SEE the empathy in his eyes. His heart would break with yours and THAT was perhaps his greatest gift.
There was never a person on this planet that met Chris that didn't feel better about themselves after talking with him.
I just saw him when he was in CA and today, when I walk by the chair he sat in as we spoke my heart aches. I can't believe he is gone.
MB... I can not even imagine the loss you feel, and the pain of thinking about the future with the girls without their dad, but I can tell you this... Time passes, and with every day it WILL get just a little bit easier. For now, know that Chris was loved by everyone who knew him.
Good bye my friend... I'll miss you!

Dr. Manolis was a professor that I will never forget. He knew how to challenge his students, explain theories and ideas, and promote creativity in the classroom. Most importantly he made the classroom experience fun. Always a laugh from Dr. Manolis.

The Manolis family is my thoughts and prayers during this time.

Mary Beth,
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew your husband during middle school and knew that some day he would go on to do great things with his life and after reading about his accomplishment he did just that. He will always be remembered by me as very kind and genuine person that stayed true to his beliefs.

MB, I cannot imagine what you and the girls are going through, as I am having a tough time comprehending this myself.
Verena, Molly and Elsie, I have never met you, but every time your Father and I talked, he talked with such immense pride about his precious girls. You will never likely know what a truly great and kind man your father was, and how much he adored you. He was a truly great friend to me for 22 years, and I will always remember his willingness to help me, his keen insights, and his great sense of humor. I will miss him greatly and think about him often. Please be strong now, as your mother needs your love. I hope to meet you someday and tell you more about your wonderful father.
