Donald Gilreath Obituary

Donald R. Gilreath, III

Deer Park - Donald Raymond "Donny" Gilreath, III, age 36, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 5, 1985, to Donald R. Gilreath, Jr. and Pamela Sue Gilreath (nee Lester.)

Donny grew up in Deer Park and attended St. Saviour Parish Elementary. He graduated from Moeller High School Class of 2003. Since 2005, Donny has served with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department where he most recently was assigned as Deputy in Jail Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Most of all, he loved and was devoted to his family.

Donny and his wife, Sarah Ann Gilreath (nee Spencer), met as teenagers through their friends at a local Catholic festival. They now have three children; Cameron, Haley, and Avery. In addition to his parents, wife, and children, Donny is survived by his sisters, Kelley (Emily) Gilreath and Katy (Ross) Kendall; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of dear friends and co-workers.

During this difficult time of great loss, we celebrate Donny's exemplary character and hilarious nature. He was his own unique and precious blend of compassion, selflessness, generosity, love, and he was a real prankster.

Public visitation will be 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for all guests attending. A private funeral service will begin following the visitation with interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Evendale. Online condolences may be shared at www.mrfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donny's honor to The Shield at www.theshieldohio.com.

We were so very sorry to get this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will always be remembered for his huge grin, especially when he picked a kid off first base with his incredible pickoff move. Sometimes I think he walked hitters just so he could pick them off...

I have so many fond memories all the way from childhood with Donny. We were both running backs for the St. Savior Golden Bears. He was always a little bit faster than me. Lol. I would never admit it then but he gets the glory now. Throughout the years he would always check on me. He always knew how to make someone feel special, never forgotten, and loved. He will be greatly missed and cherished forever. Fly high with the angels my friend. Until we meet or race again I’ll be there to join you. Love ya brother.
