I searched for Doug after writing a song inspired by his black and white slide show at our 40th ERG class reunion. I was so sad to find this obituary and learn of his passing. I always admired Doug's intellect and talent. He played Bass in our school musical, "Fiddler on the Roof", and I fondly recall making eye contact with him many times from the stage. I'd love to send a recording of the song to Doug's wife and family. If anyone gets this, please contact me at richard,[email protected] Thanks and deepest sympathy. Rick

I am so very, very sorry and shocked to just hear of Dr. Mossman's death. I worked in psychiatry for over 32 years as an admin and left psychiatry to go to the College Conservatory of Music for 2 years and retired last year. When I worked in the psychiatry chair's office, I interacted with Doug fairly often. He was always, always kind and I loved his sense of humor. He was a very dedicated physician and teacher, a faculty member who was held in high regard and always will be. Love to all of you from my heart, Donna NIemeier

Dear Mossman Family,
I first met Dr. Mossman when he came up to me at an AAPL conference and adjusted my tie. I really appreciated that, and over the next few years spent some time with him at conferences. He was a lovely and brilliant man, someone with a quantitative background, which made him special in the organization. I am very, very sorry,
Alexander.

I am so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. He was a brilliant, kind, and gifted man. I got to know him as a later-in-life law student through his involvement in the Glen Weaver Fellowship. I always enjoyed our discussions about psychiatry, law, music, and theology (especially the latter). He will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of Dr. Mossman's death. I have been his patient for the last 5 years and he helped me immensely. He was a kind and happy soul. I will miss the challenge of making him laugh in our sessions. Peace and love to his family and friends.
Thanks Doc

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, what an incredible person. Dr. Mossman shared his home and his time with a stranger (myself) when I interviewed at the University of Cincinnati's residency program. What I remember from that trip is how warm, genuine, and caring he was, and how much he cared about his family and his students.

Dear Kathy and children,
It was my very great honor to share a family meal with you and Doug some 20 years ago. I remember a lot of love at the table. I kept up correspondence with Doug over the years. He was very generous with his time. I recall one e-mail from Doug that began--"I have no time to respond." This was followed by 3 full paragraphs responding to my query. One thing I learned from corresponding with Doug and reading his work is that there are things that can be comprehended and understood, even if I know I will never be one of those people who can comprehend or understand them. He was a true polymath, with a towering intellect of broad range. And yet he was always so nice and amiable. I last saw Doug a few years ago at a poster session at a conference. He was wearing a tuxedo, and when I asked why, he said he was getting ready to play the piano for the group. I wish I had been able to stay. Please accept my condolences for your loss. God bless you all.
