Elmer H., beloved husband of 53 years to Mary (nee Schaber) Ruhe. Devoted father of Steve (Connie) Ruhe, Mike (Peggy) Ruhe, Dennis (Susan) Ruhe, Beth (Terry) Gideon and Karen (Mike) Orth. Loving grandfather of Natalie, Mark, Nick, Melanie, John, Rachel, Ann Marie, David, Christine, Eric, Katherine, Mary and David. Dear brother of Dorothy (Bernard) Smetanka and the late Mildred (late Cyril) Kaelin. Stepbrother of Albert (late Jackie) Schwier, late George (late Alma) Schwier, late Betty (late Earl) Neggerman, late Richard (Vera) Schwier and the late Henry (late Virginia) Schwier. Uncle Elmer to many. Passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the age of 79. Visitation at Frederick Funeral Home, 2553 Banning Road on Thursday (July 7) from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church (White Oak) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Right To Life of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. 1802 W. I will always remember Elmer as a gentle and caring person. His sense of humor always kept us laughing on the golf course. We worked together for many years and yet we always had time to talk about family. I haven't seen Elmer for many years but will always remember his smile and caring demeanor.
