Frederick DeBra

Loveland - Frederick Ellis DeBra - Born October 1, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Fred B. and Martha Wanetta (Murphy) DeBra who preceded him in death. Fred passed on to Glory with his Savior on July 1, 2019 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Carol (Reed) DeBra; his children Rebecca (Patrick) Burgess, Joshua (Traci), Ryan (KC), and Seth (Mallory) DeBra; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his five siblings, Wanda, Rosie, David (Diana), Nina (Jim), and Leah (Bill), along with his in-laws Sandy and Morris (Michelle). His cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends were important to him. Fred DeBra was a graduate of Indian Hill High School and the University of Cincinnati. He served in Vietnam. He and Donna met while he was sheriff in Dodge City, and he won her heart after a duel with the notorious "Black Bart." Frederick Ellis DeBra was a husband, father, believer, Papaw, philosopher, storyteller, teacher, writer, creator, poet, actor, mechanical contractor, comic, coach, dancer, intellectual, chocolate milk and ice cream connoisseur, preacher, swimming pool technician, and friend. Fred was larger than life and a loving husband, father and friend. I will always have very fond memories of the time I spent with Fred in High school and beyond.

Donna - not sure if you will remember but my husband, Jim Leugers (1939-2018) and I worked with Fred at State Farm many years ago. Fred was such a fun and kind young man - we enjoyed getting to know you both as a couple too. Sounds like Fred continued to grow in his faith and generosity. I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.

I cut Fred's hair for about 35 years, Such a sweet man of faith, loved his family. will miss all our non political correct discussions. God Bless Him and the family.

I SAW FRED ALMOST EVERYDAY THE LAST 5 YEARS AS I WORKED IN THE FAB SHOP. HE HAD A BIG HEART. A YOUNG LADY'S CAR BROKE DOWN BY THE SHOP & WHEN HE ASKED THE GUYS WHAT WAS WRONG THEY SAID SHE NEEDED A BATTERY. FRED SAID GO GET HER ONE & PUT IT IN FOR HER. A YOUNG PREGNANT GIRL WHO WAS BY THE SHOP & WAS FREEZING. FRED SAW HER & SAID BRING HER OVER TO THE OFFICE TO GET WARM. SHE CAME BACK A WEEK LATER WITH HER MOTHER BRINGING COOKIES & TO THANK FRED FOR BEING SO KIND. SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO NAME HER BABY AFTER THE FRED DEBRA COMPANY. I DON'T NO IF SHE DID OR NOT. FRED WAS A GOOD MAN & HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. R I P

I had the honor and pleasure of assisting and helping Fred as a Queen City Hospice STNA during his last few weeks of life. I am truly humbled by the love and support Fred had and has obviously had from family & friends his entire life. Even on days that Fred wasn't feeling his best he always managed a smile, especially when talking about his family, or when we would play a favorite country singer he liked, or a song he wanted to hear.
A very special man with an equally special family. ♥

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER WHEN I SAW FRED COMING UP THE STEPS AT PATTYS FUNERAL SERVICE. WHAT A GOOD FEELING THAT HE AND HIS MANY 'HELPERS' WERE SO KIND AND THOUGHTFUL TO MAKE THAT EFFORT. I HAVE MANY GOOD THOUGHTS OF OUR GATHERINGS FOR THE DEBRA, MURPHY SUMMER GET TOGETHERS.
