Gail JoAnne Bechtold, beloved, sister, friend and mother, passed away peacefully December 23, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her kindness, humor, and joy touched everyone who knew her.
Gail was born on August 8, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Mary & Jack Bechtold. Gail is survived by her devoted life partner, Richard "Dick" Bethel; her siblings, Tim (Nancy) Bechtold, Fran (Walt) Heekin, Connie (Bill) Beck, Jean (Terry) Bechtold, Paul (Mary) Bechtold, Peter (Peg) Bechtold and her cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her daughter, Katherine Lowry of California. Gail will join her sister Mimi (Steve) Leverone in Heaven.
Gail graduated from Indian Hill High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. Gail never forgot a face and told great stories of growing up in Kenwood with her family and many All Saints & Glenover neighborhood
friends and cousins.
Family and friends meant everything to Gail. She treasured her many years with her partner Richard. Gail never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with warmth and openness.The family remembers her as someone quick with words, laughter and thoughtfulness. Gail made the world brighter, and her memory will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Gail's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10th from 10:00am-11:00am until the time of her memorial service at 11:00, at Strawser Funeral Home, 9503 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash. Memorials are suggested to the Linder Center of Hope To make a gift by mail, please send to:

We are so sorry to hear that Gail has passed. She was our sweet neighbor for many years in Oakley, where we shared many great and memorable times. She was the most thoughtful person, and her joy and laughter contagious. She will be missed by all of us who loved her.
