Gertrude, age 84, May 30, 2014, Cincinnati. beloved wife of Henri,loving mother of Jeffrey(Lisa), Jonathan (Kathaleen), Jarrod (Madeline);one brother, William Averette; sister-in-law of Yvonne Myrick; grandmother of Jenae, Jared, Jocelyn, Jordan, Jayla, Joshua;one step-granddaughter Danielle Murdoch; loved by a host of nieces and cousins. Visitation, 9:30 am at Zion Baptist Church, 630 Glenwood followed by 11 a.m. funeral service. Rev. James H. Cantrell officiating. Renfro Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Interment, Spring Grove Cemetery.

Ms McSayles was a true blessing in our lives. As a neighbor for more than 50 years her inspiration was heartfelt. Growing up was like having a second mom right next door. You will be missed!

My prayers to Gertrude's family. Gertrude was my coworker at IRS and a fellow alumni from Woodward High School. Gertrude was always giving back and never asked for anything in return. As an IRS employee she worked hard and gave so much until she retired. She was a member of the Association for the Improvement of Minorities in IRS and served this organization well as a workshop instructor and advisor. She served the Woodward Alumni well as a Trustee Board member. She was one of the original members of the Women of Color organization. She encouraged me to take my grandkids to their golf lessons so they can aspire to do great things in their life. God has rewarded Gertrude with one of those special beautiful rooms in his mansion. Above all Gertrude loved the Lord! Her spirit will always live on through her ministry!
