Jim or Jimbo as we called him when delivering the morning Enquirer was a great friend for many years. He was a great athlete, a great bowler whom I bowled with for many years at Mt Washington Lanes. He was a great ticket Seller at River Downs were we shared many stories about the races and horses to bet on. He will be sorely missed and may God bless his family and loved ones especially his grandson who is excelling in baseball. Jim was a very proud Grandpa.

I worked with Jim at River Downs for 33 years. Jim was the first person to help an 18 year old kid learn the race track parlance and ways.

We talked just about every day before the races and even between races. Jim was always upbeat and happy and even agreed to join our softball team & later lent us his suburban so we could take our oldest son to Ohio U.

He was a good friend and as a Purcell graduate, he truly was "outstanding among all"!

To the Hornschemeier family,

I worked with Jim at River Downs for 33 years and Jim was the one guy in the clubhouse who helped an 18 year old kid learn the ropes of race track parlance and ways!
Jim was kind enough to play on our softball team and even lent us his suburban when our oldest went off to college at Ohio U.
Always upbeat and happy, Jim was a pleasure to talk to before the races and even between races. I learned a lot just listening to Jim.
I am truly sorry for your loss but know this, as a Purcell graduate, he really was "outstanding among all"!!

It has been many years since I have seen Jim.
1 am Jim's third cousin. Went to grade school together. We work together as Apprentices at GM.
He was a very intelligent man and a superb athlete.
He stayed in Mt. Washington I moved closer to my work in Hamilton.
I was in his wedding and he was in mine.
I am very sorry that I did not make contact.
Marilyn and family, all of you will be in my prayers and thoughts!
God Bless you all,
Bob Dyer
