James Patrick Shanahan

Indianapolis - It is with great sadness that the family of James Patrick Shanahan announces his passing away on September 26, 2018, of complications from Parkinson's Disease, which he bore with dignity for more than 20 years. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jim (Anne), Patty and Mike, by his grandchildren, Bizzie (Adam), Katie, Bailey, Maddie, Maggie, Gabbie, Jay, Alex, Michaela and Catherine, his brothers-in-law Bill (Peg) Kipp, Dave (Kay) Kipp and his sister-in-law Judy Pater, and his many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Jim's parents, James and Thelma, his three sisters, Shelly, Carol and Marlene, his infant daughter Kathleen and his beloved wife of 57 years, Charlotte (died December 26, 2017), preceded him in death. A funeral mass will be held in memory of Jim at Guardian Angels Church, 6539 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230 on October 1, 2018, at 10:30 am, preceded by a visitation starting at 9:00. Interment will follow the funeral at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati. Those who desire to do so may make a donation in memory of Jim to the Parkinson's Foundation or to Rock Steady Boxing of Indianapolis. Condolences may be expressed at GilliganFuneralHomes.com
