Kevin Martin Obituary
Edgewood - On July 1, 2021, Kevin Andrew Martin (1969-2021), loving husband and father, passed away suddenly at age 52. A native of Cincinnati, Kevin attended Xavier University, and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Kevin served as a beloved and respected hospitalist at St. Elizabeth Medical Center since 2003, was on the SEP Board, and served on various other committees over the years. He was passionate about his work and cared deeply for his patients and colleagues. Kevin and his wife Julie married in 2004, and together they had three children, Ethan, Alyssa, and Kayla. Kevin adored spending time with his kids, family, and enjoyed getting together with extended friends and family. He was skilled in so many areas, and blessed with the gift of vision and design. Kevin enjoyed working on numerous home improvement projects. He especially liked woodworking and landscaping. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and generosity. Kevin was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie Martin (nee Moorman); children, Ethan, Alyssa, and Kayla; father, Robert C. Martin; brothers, Greg (Judy), Scott (Nancy), and John (Kandy) Martin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his mother, Maria Adelhardt Martin. A visitation will be held at Middendorf Funeral Home (3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017) on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place the following day, Monday, July 12, 2021 at Crossroads Church Florence (828 Heights Blvd, Florence, KY 41042) at 11:00 AM with a second visitation that will begin prior to that at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions can be made in Kevin's honor to St. Elizabeth Foundation c/o the Dr. Kevin A. Martin Scholarship Fund, 1 Medical Village Dr. Edgewood, KY 41017 or Villa Madonna Academy 2500 Amsterdam Rd. Villa Hills, KY 41017. Online condolences can be left at www.middendorf-funeralhome.com

Dr. Martin was the best doctor, so caring and always so pleasant to be around, I still can't believe he's gone, he use to always bring the staff, at the old North unit, goodies that his wife would make, he truly is missed.

Dr Martin was always so kind to everyone around him. He was an excellent doctor, but an exceptional person as well. He would occasionally talk about his plans after work, and he would always light up when he'd talk about what he would be doing with his family. Dr Martin will be missed by all who knew him. My heart goes out to all of his family.

Kevin was my next-door neighbor growing up. He was a sweet guy. I think our last conversation was about him considering giving up chocolate for Lent. I'm shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. I can see from his obituary that the person I knew as a child stayed true to his values and beliefs. Through his vocation, he dedicated his life to helping others and will surely be missed. Even though his time was cut short, he used it for the betterment of others, which makes him truly an extraordinary person. Deepest sympathy to his loved ones.
