RAKEL
Leroy "Bud" beloved husband of 60 years to Suzanne M. Rakel (nee Mouch). Loving father of Ed Rakel, Linda (Mark) Fitzgerald, Steven (Michelle) Rakel and Kathy (Tim) Andrews. Grandfather of Marie, Laura, Kathy and Renee Rakel, Cara and Mollie Fitzgerald, Jennifer and Timmy Andrews. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren. Dear brother in law of Jaree O'Connor. Brother of Robert Rakel and of the late Roland Rakel, Donald Rakel, Mary Catherine Schad, Paul Rakel, Wilma Rennegarbe, Eddie Rakel, Rosemary Davis and Jo Farmer.
Passed away January 23, 2013, at the age of 83.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Susanna 616 Reading Rd. Mason, OH 45040 from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.

Dad, today is the 10th anniversary of your passing. This past year your bride came to meet you in heaven. While we miss mom .... we are so happy she's with you in heaven. I miss you both so very much but will forever keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Also, you became another GREAT grandfather again. Timmy's son , Barrett was born and he looks just like you. The pic says it all ! Jen will be having her second baby next month! How blessed we are... we thank God daily!

Daddy, yesterday was nine years since you passed. I´m having a great time taking care of mom as you´ve requested. We love you so much and miss you every day! This year another great grandchild was born! Jen had a little boy, his name is Aiden. He will be a great cousin for Oakley. She´ll have brother coming this May. Hi Bud, just wanted you to know that I will be looking for you so we can play some golf and have a margarita together. I passed on Jan. 17, 2022 after a short illness. I am pain free now for the first time in years. Sue and the family are doing well right now. It will be a transition for them as it was for your family. So I'll be looking for you. See ya,

Dear dad, thinking of you today as your anniversary of your death will be in a couple days. Such a big year we had ... in addition to the Covid .... good news is you will be a great grandfather again. Jennifer is finally pregnant! I know how proud he would be! She and Timmy both are great parents and I can only imagine how you must be beaming down at them. Mom thinks of you often and still misses you as we all do. Daddy, today is the fifth anniversary of your death , and Jen and I spent the entire day with mom. After Jennifer gave her her monthly shot, we took her shopping, and she said she had so much fun with us today. She is doing very well and I believe you would be proud that she is taking care of things and that your children are always there to give support when needed. We are so proud of you to have provided so well for her and to ensure that after your death, that she would be taken care of...... job well done Dad! I love you so much.

Grandpa, I love you and think of you every single day! I loved the magic tricks you showed us when we would come and visit as kids. And, the willpower you had to not laugh when we tickled you always amazed me! What fun golf memories we have as well. I'll always cherish the Thanksgiving we spent together in 2012. That is my lasting memory with and and a visit I will never forget. Your zest for life was so admirable! Thank you for being exactly the Grandpa you were to all of us grandkids! Love you!

Words cannot express the love I had for Bud. He took such a genuine interest in me. He had a generous heart of gold and I will pass on his legacy to our four girls. I learned so much from Bud. I loved our spontaneous phone calls talking about random subjects and he loved to hear every detail about his granddaughters, Marie, Laura, Kathy and Renee. I got a good laugh once when I heard him say "Laura was the best flute player in the world", yes his granddaughters could do no wrong in his eyes. Now that I'm a grandmother, I feel the same about my grandchildren and feel Bud's presence when I'm with them. Thank you Bud for loving me and being a "daddy" to me.
