Lucy Simpson Obituary
Lucy Rose (nee Kelly). May 25, 1934 - July 8, 2017. Beloved wife of the late David W. Simpson, mother of Debra and Sonja Simpson, passed away Saturday, July 08, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Burning Springs, KY. (Clay Co.), the youngest child of Coiney and Nettie (nee Sandlin) Kelly. Pre-deceased by siblings, Ada Combs, Opal Kelly, Troy Kelly, and Fannie Edwards. 1952 graduate of Withrow HS. Career of decades as a real estate agent with firms big and small (Teegarden, M & M, Jordan, and Comey & Shepherd). She loved people, houses, history, Norwood, and all cats. A founding member and past President of the Norwood Historical Society and served on Norwood's Board of Zoning Appeals. Private burial July 11, 2017 at Spring Grove Cemetery. Naegele, Kleb and Ihlendorf provided service to the family. In lieu of flowers please direct donations to United Coalition of Animals (low cost spay/neuter services) 2830 Colerain Ave. Cinti OH 45225, Save the Animals Foundation (no kill shelter) 4011 Red Bank Rd. Cinti OH 45227 or Lindner Park/McCullough Nature Preserve c/o Norwood City Hall 4645 Montgomery Rd. Norwood Ohio, 45212, as she was instrumental in the creation of the park.

Norwood, and the Dierkers and Rippergers, have lost one fine friend in Lucy Simpson. She was a Norwood treasure and her enthusiasm for our city and its history will be sorely missed. And we wouldn't be in the home we have loved for the past twenty years if not for her. Condolences to her family, especially Debbie and Sonja.
