Mike and I shared an apartment in Kansas City while we were in a Management Training Program at the Westin Crown Center Hotel. Mike was always one step ahead of the rest of the group and admired for his maturity.

Mike Sansbury worked at The Carlton Hotel in Johannesburg South Africa. He was greatly respected. I got on really well with him, when I resigned from the Hotel, every day he would ask me if I am still happy with my decision, he was the only one who supported me in my decision. I enjoyed his sentence of humour. He was a true gentleman, with such dignity. [email protected]

To the family, friends and business associates who suffered the loss of Michael W. Sansbury in Auguest of 2008. I wish a belated heartfelt condolence for your loss.

I recently found myself in possession of a feasibility study for a luxury themed resort and spa he had written. I was in awe of his writing. In this study It read like a novel and was so set apart from so many studies that read like an unopened textbook.

I immediately tried to find him in hopes of meeting him when I found that he had passed away. I'm just a stranger, But I immediately felt a sense of loss and grief realizing that I will never have the chance to meet him and hear first hand of his amazing legacy.

I wish I could learn more about a man so revered, respected, accomplished and loved.

His contribution and success in an industry our world can not live without. A chance to escape, getaway and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of many hotels and resorts he created for all of us strangers around the world.

It is our deepest wish that his legacy will be remembered and acknowledged for generations to come in respect for his family and those who knew, loved and lost him.

Michael W. Sansbury we will all remember you

On behalf of Dean Bradshaw the developer who dreamed of the luxury themed resort and spa "Provence" his best friends Bruce, Steve and myself Linda K. McGarity lucky enough to be apart of such a unique resort concept that may have gone unknown with out the priceless study Mr. Sansbury authored in 2008.

A study that projected the vision of "Provence" a project not yet completed but has been kept alive by Dean Bradshaw and now I have the wonderful chance to see it come to fruition.

Mr. Sansbury went way beyond just facts and figures his study painted a visual picture of a place and time long ago past. An escape into history, rustic charm and beauty that people dream about especially after such a long and difficult economy. With the added comments of its uniqness and diversity he also picked out the perfect location and recommended to the city of Orlando. I would love to read all of his studies if it was possible. Plz contact me at 561-962-5915. We wish to be included or of help in anyway to keep his memory alive

I'm so very sorry for your sudden loss. Mike rented me my first apartment in Ithaca and toured my parents through the White House while he was there. He will always be a bright spot in my memories of Cornell and Washington, DC. With love to you all at this time and always.

I first met Michael during a crazy week of helping the Portofino get open. It was midnight and there were 3 of us trying to get a suite ready for the next day. I think Michael was in the tub cleaning it, when he introduced himself. I was amazed and impressed that the regional VP of Loews was willing to jump in and help. He was an amazing man who worked hard and could have a ton of fun in stressful and chaotic situations. I feel for his family and friends.

Mr. Sansbury was a mentor to me when I worked for him. I couldn't think of a better person to work for, and learn from. He was kind, and always positive. He supported my move to become a teacher, and I will never forget him.

Taylor, Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Sansbury and Tim:
I was sorely grieved on hearing of Mike's sudden passing. He was the best friend I had in high school and, though our contact lately has only been through occasional e-mails because of distance, I have so many memories of good times together. He had a joy of life that was inspiring and a sense of kindness and respect that was immeasurable. And, obviously, he was a devoted father---Taylor was what he talked of most. I am sure I cannot fully feel your loss, but know that as an old friend, I share deeply in it.

Mike was a great leader at the very 1st hotel I ever worked at in Detroit and he brought the A-Team (from Cornell) with him to lead the front desk and f/b operations. My sincere condolences to his daughter Tayler, Ann Marie and all the Humes family, as well as Mike's Mom, Dad, siblings, aunts, uncles, etc. Am certain he is now managing the "Big White House" above now!

Ann, we are shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Mike's passing, and recall not only Cornell Hotel School days, but the warm friendship we shared while living in Johannesburg over thirty years ago, a long way from home. To you, Tayler and the entire Sansbury family, may Mike's memory be eternal.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences to Tayler, Ann and the rest of Michael's family. I have considered him a friend since first meeting him at Cornell over 40 years ago, and his kindness, intelligence, and gentle courtesies will be missed. I proudly served on the 49th HEC under Michael's capable directorship. I hope that wonderful memories will help ease this loss.
