Morley P. Sr. died March 7, 2013 at age 86 in Folsom, California after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Katharine (Wallace) Thompson, children Page Tredennick (John), Morley P. Thompson, Jr. (Brenda), grandchildren Sarah & Scott, Tredennick, sister Nancy Genn, and his nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by wife Patricia S. Thompson. Born in San Francisco, Morley graduated from Stanford University and entered the Navy, rising to rank of Lieutenant. After his military service, he completed his MBA at Harvard and later a JD at Salmon P. Chase College of Law. He also was certified as a CPA. He moved to Cincinnati, where he joined Baldwin Piano Company as a piano salesman, eventually becoming the CEO of Baldwin-United. He was later the president of Stearns Technical Textiles. At various times, Morley was on the boards of Cincinnati Bell, FMC Corporation, the Kroger Company, Anchor Hocking Corporation, and the Canadian International Power Company Limited. Following retirement, Morley returned to California. He continued to be active in traveling, writing, and other activities, particularly in The Bohemian Grove, Cave Man Camp. Family graveside service to be held on March 13. Memorial service to be scheduled at a later date.
