Nicholas J. "Nick", beloved husband of Alicia (nee Herbers) Hoevel. Devoted father of Julia, Justin and Nicholas Hoevel. Cherished son of Paula (nee Fishback) Hoevel and the late Mel (Penni) Hoevel. Dear brother of Nathan Hoevel. Step-brother of Nick Webb. Son-in-law of Greg and Ginny Herbers. Brother-in-law of Mary Herbers. Preceded in death by his grandparents Dolores and John Fishback and Lillian and Melvin Hoevel. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the age of 32. Visitation on Thursday (Oct. 2) from 4pm-8pm at Corpus Christi Church, 2014 Springdale Road where Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday (October 3) at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cincinnati Police Federal Credit Union, Nick Hoevel Children's Education Fund, 3550 Springdale Road 45251 or any of the three branches. Nick, Ali & Family,
Words alone cannot express my sorrow. I keep asking myself, "Is this real?"
You two are wonderful people and the love you displayed for one another was simply amazing. It's in times like these, that we must have a strong faith and acceptance that God is in control. Life is precious, there's no doubt about it. The eternal life that we are promised is by far worth our earthly journey. Young or old, we ALL will meet our maker at His calling.
Nick was definitely an all around great guy, husband, father, policeman and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you Ali. May God comfort you and your family as He holds you close during these challenging times. The celebration of Nick's life and memories will help carry you through these coming days.

Nick was a great man, father and husband. I'm blessed to have been a part of his and Ali's wedding and witness the love that he and Ali shared.
