Richard Reeder Obituary
Milford - Richard Nelson Reeder, age 94, passed away on June 18, 2020 at his home in Milford, Ohio. Born February 4, 1926, in Cincinnati to Clifford and Elsie (Paulus) Reeder, Dick was a graduate of Norwood High School and Xavier University. He served as a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps during WW II.
During the 1960s he worked at GE Aircraft Engines; in the 1970s he owned Rief Manufacturing Co.; he later worked at Xomox until the age of 83. A fan of golf, sports and music, he also enjoyed tinkering with electronic circuits. He was an avid runner in his later years, running 5K races into his seventies.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Patty; sons Ken (Bernice), Cody (Kathy), Tom (Wendy), Nick (Jill Davis), and Cliff; daughter Marcia (Adam) Schor; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Donald and Edward.
A private memorial gathering will be held in his honor at a later date.

Patty I know Dick loved you all the more for keeping him in the comfort of his home. I will miss making him treats and you coming into work and telling me how much he enjoyed them. You have lots of memories like his flashing shoes and sunglasses just to name 2 . Keeps those memories close to you heart. May God be with you in this hard time.

We enjoyed and looked forward to having dinner with Dick Reeder on a regular basis because he always stimulated conversations pertaining to world events and how they would impact our daily lives. He shared his interest and insured that everyone was included and their opinions and observations were appreciated. Dicks stories about his WWII military service as a B-20 tail gunner were always entertaining and informative. He took great pride in his military service and his family and their accomplishments. He is missed and will always be remembered.

My family and I are sending much love and many prayers your way. I know that the past few years have been rough on patty, cliff, and for the family. As time moves forward always remember all the memories you had with him, good and bad, our memories are what keep our souls full. Patty I'm so sorry for your loss. I have one more story about Dick. When He was running all those
5K races into his 70's , I would always ask him on Monday morning
How he did in his race. He would always finish 2nd in his age group,
He said that he just couldn't beat this one older gentleman.
One Monday morning he came in smiling ear to ear and he said he
Won the 5K race that weekend. I said you finally beat that old guy.
He said no, that the old guy died a couple of weeks ago. We all got a
Kick out of that one. He was a character.

I worked with Dick at Xomox for over 20 years. He was an interesting
Person, He was 30 years older than me but we would talk about anything
You could imagine. He was very curious about everything and always
Would try and make any work process better, He had a very active mind.
He knew that I liked to play the horses, so I invited Him to go to River
Downs one day and we had the best time. He asked me a ton of
Questions that day about the horses. I loved hearing His stories
About His life. He was a good man. My thoughts are with the family.

Dick was a very kind man. He had a great sense of humor and was devoted family man. I always enjoyed his stories of his life, he shared many of them. He cared deeply for the employee's when he owned his business. I am very sad by his passing. I was his barber stylist for 25 years. Dick was a very loyal client.
