Robert Garvin Obituary
Robert Victor Garvin, formerly of Cincinnati, died in Sarasota, FL on 27 June 2017 at 89. Bob spent his entire career at GE, marketing aircraft engines worldwide. Born in 1927 in Vienna, Austria, his family fled the Nazis to London before coming to the United States. Bob was married to Rita Tobi Katz of Cincinnati for 43 years until her death in 1999. He is survived by sons Andrew of Newton, MA and Anthony of Mahwah, NJ, grandson Joshua of Seattle, WA, and loving companion Julie Magenheim of Sarasota.

I'm so sorry to learn today of Bob's passing. He was a college roommate of my father's and remained a lifelong and true blue friend of my parents, and also to me. Sending best regards to his loved ones. I hope to attend his memorial in the fall.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was truly an ambassador for GE Aviation and was instrumental in the establishment of most of our key international relationships. He opened a world of opportunity for me when he hired me in 1984 for a market development role based in Rome, Italy.
Bob was a most interesting man who lived his life well.
