I am so sad to hear of Mrs. McCarthys passing. Although I have not seen the family in years. I will never forget growing up on Peacock Dr. and hanging out with Mike and Sean. My prayers are with the family.

A loving tribute to my mother-in-law: Sally always had little toys and games ready at the house for any child who would happen to be there. Whenever she shopped she would look for the kind of things she knew they would like. These were always to take home to play with. One year it was yo-yos, another paddle balls, and card games. She was so thoughtful that way, also for Christmas she would shop all year for those special gifts, have them ready and wrapped, and took more joy in our delight than in opening her own gifts. We shared many laughs and some sorrows, and we'll miss her dearly.

My mom and I will miss talking/laughing with Aunt Sally nightly. We will always have great memories! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know you all meant the world to her and that she was very proud of all you.
Love,
Mary

Words are failing me at this point. I would like to write a great tribute for Mom - something that could tell everyone how wonderful of a Mother she was, something that would beautifully summarize her life and the way she lived it. But in reality, she wouldn't want that. Mom was a quiet and private person. She didn't like the spotlight or being the center of attention. So I write this with that in mind.
Looking back as a parent myself now I see the incredible patience she needed with us as kids. I see it was the little and common things, the seemingly small and insignificant ones that stand out as the special memories I hold dearly of Mom. She was unflinching in her devotion to our family through good and bad. Simply yet sublimely, she was a loving Mother and the Life Force of our family.
I truly feel I have lived a blessed life in many respects. But it all began with the most special blessing of getting to call Sarah McCarthy my Mom.
